goodbye old couch

Two years ago when we were in the last few weeks before getting married, Tom and Dani gave us their most awesome couch. It was so soft and comfy and has been a great blessing for us the whole time we've had it. (Thanks Tom and Dani) However, it hasn't been able to withstand the abuse I put on it while playing some fierce super nintendo games. Remember how when you were a kid and you tried to turn left so you found your hands, your whole body, and especially your head turning? Me too! Now that I'm older I still retain that talent but I played donkey kong which requires lots of monkey-like jumping and running. So as you can imagine I have been mimicking those same movements in the form of abuse to our couch. I tried to repair the couch once with sections of steel angle iron

....and that held for a bit but we realized it was just time to get a new couch - especially when the couch starting eating people.

I think our hometeachers probably dread coming over because of the back pain caused by the couches gnawing. Molly was our latest victim that convinced us that the time was right.

Here's our new couch! We got it from edwards furniture and LOVE it! The reclining seats are most amazing. We weren't too sure about the "bucket seats" but we figured with reclining seats we won't be stretching out on it very much anyway. Our old couch has been great and we will miss it but we are diggin this new one.

We also went to campus on Sunday for a stroll with Molly. Campus is so nice in the summer! I almost (focus on almost) wish school was in summer because it would be significantly less depressing.

One more thing I've just got to add. We went fishing today and Molly started crying a little bit so Sara subsequently reeled in her line and set the pole down. I asked her why she stopped fishing and she said it was because she couldn't do both at the same time. I told her it was possible and she handed me Molly as I fished (with significant doubt I might add) and I actually caught a fish! I held Molly the whole time I reeled that trout in from about 400 yards out. Moral of the story: it can be done.

YAY for new furniture! :) I like all your pictures. And Fred, BE CAREFUL holding Molly like that!! ;) Good job with the fish, though.

I'm glad you got a new couch. Now I don't have to worry that Brandon wont make it back from home teaching you guys.

(Brandon says that he thought the couch was pretty comfortable)
